For my fourth piece, I decided to create a more detailed, atmospheric concept art similar to my responses to the Assassin's Creed pieces. I chose a photo I had taken in Venice, from the campanile at St Mark's Square looking down onto the Basilica. There was scaffolding surrounding one of the domes, and also the photo was taken in broad daylight. I darkened the image and gave it a nighttime look, adding lighting (torches) to various buildings across the image. I also chose not to add fog to some areas of the image to allow the viewer to see the depth in the image; concept art is meant to attract people into the game's vast explorable space. This also shows the action packaged into the game - I added an explosion with fire and particles coming out of it. The scaffolding helped to add to the scene, giving the building a fragmentary look. I adjusted lighting to match the darker look and the explosion, and tried to keep a balance between creating atmosphere and protecting or maintaining detail.

I also recorded a speed art for this, so that the progress of the image and techniques used can be seen.
Here are the four images of my final piece, in response to the Assassin's Creed concept art. With all four, I took my own photos for the backgrounds, and then edited in Photoshop. I could not take original photos of the main character, so I used images from the internet as references to recreate the characters with the Pen + Shape tools in Photoshop. I gave my images a watercolour look and feel using watercolour brushes and the 'Filter Gallery' to give a painted effect. I took inspiration from the aforementioned artists in terms of light, colour, detail and ambience.

PIECE 3 (+ SPEED ART)
I screen recorded whilst I created this piece, so that the progress of its creation is documented and the techniques can be seen in action. I sped it up (reducing from 2 hours to around 2 minutes), thus forming the speed art:
