I visited a nature reserve by the sea in Portugal to try and find some inspiration and come back with some good quality images. Although there was not much to photograph directly relating to my project, I captured pictures of water and edited them to produce quite interesting images. I gave the water a mildly surreal look by editing the colours and oversaturating some images purposely and tastefully; this accentuated the vibrant blue and green colours in the landscapes.

I also thought a lot about composition here; the vast field of view with not much going on meant use of Rule of Thirds, etc, would be vital here, and would have a strong effect on the image. I straightened each image and when capturing the images I was thinking about the composition. I think it makes a significant difference on the tone of the image, also making it look much more professional.

I increased the clarity in some of the images, which brought out the fine details in the ripples of the water and the blades of grass. This gave much more life to the images to which their original state seems quite dull.
