When staying in Barnes I had 1 night to capture interesting images. The colours in the sky are also useful for putting in other images, and I experimented here with exposure and aperture on the camera itself. There wasn't any mist or haze to give atmosphere to the images. In some of the images below I chose various exposures; this can be seen with the slightly overexposed image to the right, that brings out brighter colours. The water is therefore softer on this image, however I feel it is too bright, and I prefer the first image of the river, as I felt the exposure was at the right setting (1 second shutter speed). Further down I experimented with some harsh HDR effects and long exposures. This worked particularly well in an abstract way on the last image. In the bottom middle image, the camera was not fully stabilized, so in the background, the buildings have almost a double exposure. The first image on the bottom left worked well with the leading lines and the car headlights trailing underneath the handrail. I brought out the texture of the concrete by using a HDR effect.

The Thames at Sunset
I had a quick walk through hyde park one evening after my work experience, seeking autumnal photos. I captured this image of the trees, focussing closely on some branches hanging in front of me, to allow for light bokeh, spherically distorted to the sides. The repetition of the trees furthering into the distance along with the depth of field creates atmospheric perspective to an extent, without any fog or haze. I also added some small film grain to the image to add some texture to the image, which almost makes it look like a painting in some senses. With the image following this, I wanted to bring out the red clouds, so I increased the vibrance and the clarity in Lightroom.
