When looking for inspiration, I was particularly looking out for interesting use of light and fog that created exciting atmospheres. I was also looking for images that caught my eye because of atmospheric layers, or the image's composition as a whole. I can then use these as influences for my work. Some are almost raw images, however others are manipulated with other images or illustration, to sometimes give a surreal look, yet maintaining the atmospheric perspective. I was also looking for meaning behind the images; images that told a story (rather than just images for image's sake). I felt most artists had acheived this through composition, and also use and manipulation of colours and light, which would be something I needed to focus on in order to produce good photos. I wanted to also find a balance of well known artists and relatively newer photographers, whose main market is the digital community, residing on sites such as Flickr, Instagram and 500px. I felt that a balance between the two would be good, as the latter use more modern techniques, but it would also be interesting to see where these techniques originated from, because the subjects being captured/painted have remained similar over time.
